Wood, hand made lacquer "maque" and iron fittings.  Wood comes from the  increasingly rare and fragrant linaloe tree.

 18th Century style reproduction of a baul or trunk fitted with period-correct iron fittings including a lock and key.  Two layers of maque have been applied with orange as the foundation and red for detail.   Technique used for removing the maque is called "rayado".
