Mexican Masks

Mask Item 343

Price Upon Request

8.5"H. x 7.25"W.

2008 - Commission

Leather, human hair, oil-based paint and shoemakers thread.

Observations:  Industrial nylon is now commonly used for hair since it is increasingly difficult and costly to purchase the long braids of human hair originally used for this class of mask.  Skin tone is uniform with the exception of the rouge on the cheeks. Any other deviation is due to artifacts resulting from the interaction of the light and glossy finish.

Provenance provided to buyer.
